Sebacic acid or decanedioic acid is a natural dicarboxylic acid obtained from the decomposition of ricinoleic acid. It serves as a monomer in the synthesis of polyamides. It is used in the manufacture of plasticizers and also cosmetics as a pH corrector or as a synthesis intermediate to produce sebacate esters.
