Description

Selenium Dioxide is an inorganic compound formed by the oxidation of selenium metal. It serves as a precursor to the manufacture of all Selenium derivatives. It is used as a catalyst in the production of electrolytic manganese. In surface treatment, Selenium Dioxide is commonly used for its oxidizing power on metals by giving a blackened (metal burnisher) and aged (Antique Bronze) surface appearance.
