Description

Canthaxanthin, or red Carophyll is a carotenoid pigment from the xanthophyll family. It is a substance found naturally in certain species of birds and aquatic animals, including red coral. Canthaxanthin is used as a food additive as a colorant in delicatessen meats, and also in animal feed for fish, ornamental birds, pet food and also chicken, accentuating the yellow color of egg yolk.
