Ethyl Lactate is the ethyl ester of Lactic Acid. It is used in food and cosmetics as an additive. It is also mainly used for its biodegradable properties, and is called a "green solvent". It is used as an ecological substitute for polluting and harmful organic solvents in the stripping of paints, degreasing of industrial parts, cleaning and stripping of graffiti or epoxy-based adhesives.
