Inositol or Vitamin B7 is a carbohydrate whose most stable isomer, myo-inositol is the constituent of phospholipids which is part of the composition of cell membranes. Inositol improves lipid and insulin metabolism and plays a role in the release of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine and glutamine. It is also an authorized nutritional additive in animal feed from the functional group of Vitamins and Provitamins.
